FAYETTEVILLE -- Fayetteville Police are investigating a double homicide at the Barrington Place apartments - formerly known as Cambridge Arms. Two bodies were discovered around 5 a.m. Thursday at an apartment in the 300 block of Barcelona Drive. Honolulu police arrested a man at Waena Apartments in Liliha after the victim told authorities she woke up on her couch and noticed a stranger sitting next to her. Edward Ham of Kalihi was arrested for unauthorized entry in a dwelling. Police say the 38-year-old man walked into the apartment unit through the front door, which was not locked. Pequea Township, Lancaster County -- West Willow Fire  Co. Fire Chief Jason Topper confirmed that four apartments were fully-involved Thursday in a fire, which started on the back porch of one of the units. Two other adjacent apartments had water damage. The fire spread quickly in a shared attic space , he said. Wind played a role, as well as the units not having a sprinkler system in the attic. The fire began around 12:37 p.m. at the Willow Run Apartments on Utley Place near Rollins Lance. A firefighter first to the scene had to be taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, Topper said. The fire marshal is investigating the cause. There were no other reported injuries.

Police say a fire at an apartment complex Thursday night was caused by someone trying to build a meth lab. It was discovered at the Boulder Ridge Apartments near 52nd Avenue. Police say the fire started in the apartment. The suspect ran out to the garage to try and put the fire out and then fled the scene. Police say they know who the suspect is and are actively looking for them. The BCI and the Narcotics Division responded to dismantle the attempted drug operation . According to police, the gas masks were only used as a precaution against the dangerous chemicals used in cooking methamphetamine. Police say there were no dangerous air readings recorded Thursday night and that is why there was no evacuation or further dissemination of facts. Firefighters responded to a fire call Thursday evening and spent more than five hours on the scene.
