Cedar Grove to Step Up Enforcement of "No Swimming" at Devil's Hole - News

Devil's Hole CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Cedar Grove police will soon have more authority to enforce the no swimming rule at Devil's Hole in the township.  Devil's Hole is a ravine in the Peckman River, located behind Foodtown and the apartments on Little Falls Road near Community Park.  It has long been a picturesque place to visit, but has also been a gathering place for young people. "Thoughout the years young people have visited the location," said Township Manager Tom Tucci at the town council meeting Monday . "It seems lately, with the advent of social media, it has become an attractive nuisance with large groups of young and sometimes older people going there." Tucci noted that the area is not safe for swimming for a number of reasons.  The ravine is deep and a young man drowned there in 2014.  The water quality also makes the water unsafe for swimming.  Tucci pointed out that the flow of the Peckman River contains discharge from both the Verona and Ced...

Deputies investigating suspicious death in parking lot of Walton Way business

Augusta, GA (WJBF) –  Some people that live in the complex say they were in shock when they found out the suspect, Rodney Ivey killed someone. An Augusta man is in jail after police say we went on a shooting rampage. Rodney Ivey is accused of killing 82-year-old Armand Peck, then setting a car on fire, with the victim inside. Deputies say he also shot a 16-year-old earlier Monday. East Falmouth 40B Brings Out Affordable Housing Stereotypes | Falmouth News

Plans for a Chapter 40B development on Brick Kiln Road sparked tension between members of the Falmouth Zoning Board of Appeals and the public last Thursday, August 17, when some neighbors voiced concerns about the perceived negative impacts of having affordable housing in their neighborhood. The proposed rental development , named Brick Kiln Place , would include 20 units contained in 10 ranch- style duplex buildings on 3.66 acres of land. Developers John J. DeSangro and Dana J. Wessell of Northstar Construction, doing business as Northstar Place , LLC, submitted plans for the project in January. The proposed development is unofficially located at 123 Brick Kiln Road , and would sit between two residential subdivisions on Sophie Lane and Jamie Lane, built between 1960 and 2000. Zoning consultant Stephen O. McKenzie, representing Northstar Place , noted that Mr. Wessell and Mr. DeSangro live off Brick Kiln Road themselves, and chose to build the affordable housing development...
