VIRGINIA BEACH — A person is expected to survive after they were shot during a fight in a Virginia Beach apartment on Saturday. Police arrived at Linkhorn Bay Apartments around 2:30 p.m. where the found someone shot and suffering a minor injury, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department . Charges are pending against another person, who police believe shot the victim after the pair started fighting in the parking lot of the apartment complex . Investigators say that based on preliminary information, two people got into an altercation in the Linkhorn Bay apartment complex 's parking lot, located in the 500 block of Treetop Drive.   The fight went into a residence, at which time one person pulled out a handgun and fired a single round, striking the other person. Police describe the victim's injuries as non-life threatening. Police say the person who pulled the trigger has been identified, and charges are pending. VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Police are investigating after a person was shot at the Linkhorn Bay Apartments on Treetop Drive. According to police, the call came in at 2:28 p.m. for a gunshot victim. The investigation revealed that the suspect and victim were involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot of the apartment complex. The altercation moved into a residence when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Residents living in the complex say they originally thought the sirens they heard were responding to an accident on the highway. “We started walking the dogs, that’s when we saw the undercover police officers cars , the tape, and all the officers,” said Tiffany McGregor. McGregor has lived at the complex for five years and says it’s usually a quiet area with friendly neighbors. “It’s a community. We look out for each other.
