According to police, a man identified as Delvontaye R. Boyd, 23, was shot and killed between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday morning, the shooter was still at large. The Ocala Police Department identified the dead man as Delvontaye Boyd , who lived in the apartment at Laurel Park Apartments where the body was found. Police got a call about shots fired at Laurel Park, 100 NW 23rd Ave ., Unit 1822, at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to OPD. The first officer arrived at 9:33 p.m., went up to the third floor, entered the apartment and found the man dead from a gunshot wound. The officer called for assistance, and the area was roped off with crime-scene tape. Officers said witnesses noticed a male leaving the area who got into an unknown vehicle.
