Suspects Flee after Cars, Apartment ‘Peppered’ with Bullets in Vista

Courtesy OnScene.TV An apparent altercation between the residents of a Vista apartment and at least one other person early Tuesday led to a shooting that left the unit and several parked vehicles riddled with bullet holes. San Diego Sheriff ‘s deputies sent to the Pepperwood Apartments on University Drive near Sycamore Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. found an upstairs unit “peppered with multiple handgun rounds ” and several damaged cars, according to sheriff’s Sgt. William Munsch. However, everyone involved in the incident had fled by the time they arrived. Shooting at Vista Apartment Complex

Deputies with the San Diego County Sheriff 's Department are looking for the people involved in a shooting at a Vista apartment complex . Several people reported hearing shots fired just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, at the Pepperwood Apartment Complex on University Drive. Deputies found an upstairs unit and several cars in the parking lot peppered with multiple handgun rounds .  Investigators said a fight apparently broke out between residents of the apartment unit and at least one other person. Deputies said everyone who may have been involved in the fight and shooting had left the apartment complex before they arrived.  No injuries have been reported. No other information was available. I once saw Redbeard riding his skateboard along Otay Lakes Road . It was close to midnight, there were only a few cars on the road, and the light from the streetlamps was dim. As he snaked his way down the slope, hands in his pocket, moving toward the Sweetwater Valley —where he sleeps against the wall of the Circle K, or holds his signs along the 805 exit for spare change or spreads the good news to the people of the jungle — I thought of a verse he once shared with me, a Psalm of promises from God: For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. When I first met Redbeard he was sitting still on a patch of grass, legs outstretched, under the shade of a large clump of bamboo-like Arundo donax , alongside a drainage ditch next to the southbound 805 freeway exit onto Bonita Roa...
