Ayres SD Hotel Breaks Ground

Costa Mesa- based Ayres Hotels owns and runs 21 hotels —all in California and 10 of which are in OC. The Chula Vista location is described by the company as a boutique hotel and expected to have 135 rooms. The site is 20 minutes from downtown San Diego . The hotel is part of the Millenia Commons project a $45 million, 132,000 square- foot retail center by San Diego developer Sudberry Properties . The center opens next summer with tenants to include HomeGoods, Cost Plus World Market, Ross Dress for Less and Buy Buy Baby. The Commons is part of Millenia, a 210-acre mixed use development overseen by Meridian Development, also in San Diego, on behalf of Dallas- based Stratford Lane , which owns the land.
