Augusta, GA (WJBF) –  Some people that live in the complex say they were in shock when they found out the suspect, Rodney Ivey killed someone. An Augusta man is in jail after police say we went on a shooting rampage. Rodney Ivey is accused of killing 82-year-old Armand Peck, then setting a car on fire, with the victim inside. Deputies say he also shot a 16-year-old earlier Monday. NewsChannel 6’s Derrikia Young says the people she spoke with who live at Cedar Grove would’ve never thought something like this would happen in their neighborhood. They have a workout room, jacuzzi, pool and small business area with computers (no printer - they used to have and I wish they would replace it). It is a quiet building, with security guards and security cameras and doors so that is nice. It is very pretty in and out with no bug issues (I hate bugs! so this is major for me) The complaints about the peeling paint and general dirtiness in the stairwells has been true from time to time, but they eventually do clean and paint. We have had water run off issues in those areas, so it took a while to repair. The general upkeep is good overall. The case is about computer search warrants , and specifically whether they can authorize a seizure of all devices that investigators discover that might contain the evidence sought. The frustrating part of the opinion is that there are a few different ways to interpret it, and I’m not sure which way is right.
