Armed robber takes cash and cellphone, then demands shoes off Little Rock man's feet

Little Rock police say a robber took a man’s cash and cellphone, then demanded the shoes off his feet Thursday afternoon . The robber approached a man and woman around 3:30 p.m. at Fair Oaks Apartments on West 36th Street , according to a Little Rock Police Department report . He was wearing a red shirt and carrying a black and silver pistol, the report said. The victims told police he demanded everything out of the man’s pocket. After the man handed over $865 and his cellphone, the robber told him to take off his shoes, police said. When officers arrived at the scene, they searched the apartment complex for the robber and two others, police said. It wasn't clear how the other two people were involved. As of Friday, no arrests had been made.

Two people shot, killed at Fayetteville apartment complex

FAYETTEVILLE -- Fayetteville Police are investigating a double homicide at the Barrington Place apartments - formerly known as Cambridge Arms. Two bodies were discovered around 5 a.m. Thursday at an apartment in the 300 block of Barcelona Drive. Click here to view a map of the area Authorities said a man and a woman were found shot to death in apartment #28 C, after someone passing by the rear of the apartment noticed a broken glass door . One body was found near the back door, while the other was in the kitchen. Police and family members identified the victims as 18-year-old Shaniqua Simmons and 29-year-old Jacoy Mahorn. "My sister's gone," cried Anita Simmons , who also lives in the complex. "She is fun. She is outgoing. She liked to have fun. She tried to live her life. She was so young." Rostov-On-Don Residents Warned Of Threats Before Deadly Fire

Valentina Livshits says the mysterious visitors came to her in Rostov-on-Don about a month ago, offering to buy her plot of land in the center of the southern Russian city at a knockdown price. The two men said they were "realtors" who "must report to the head of the city administration" about their "work with residents," Livshits, 62, told RFE/RL's Russian Service . "They got very upset when I refused. They vowed that the court wouldn't rule in my favor and that I'd simply be kicked out of my home," she said. Stories of similar ominous visits to the neighborhood by unidentified men had been bubbling for weeks before a massive fire tore through the area on August 21, damaging or destroying 123 residential buildings and killing one man . Suspect identified in shooting at Aspen Village apartments

(Source: WBRC video) (Source: Tuscaloosa Co. Metro Homicide) TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Tuscaloosa authorities are looking for a man in connection with a shooting at Aspen Village apartments . Warrants have been obtained against Roy Willingham, 21, for attempted murder and second-degree assault.  Police say the shooting happened around 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the complex off Skyland Boulevard. Two 21-year-old black males were shot. One of the victims told investigators that he and the other victim went to get some belongings from an apartment that one of them had just moved out of.  Police say when the two victims got to the apartment an altercation happened and a man inside the apartment came out and shot both of them. One victim has life-threatening injuries. The other victim received a graze wound to his back. 4-year-old shot in Cleveland making strides toward recovery

​ CLEVELAND -- The mother of a Cleveland 4-year-old boy shot in the head while riding in a car with her on I-90 spoke publicly for the first time Friday. Cecelia Hill thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers. "I lost my faith that night; I wasn't able to protect my kid. I had to put my child in God's hands," she said. Hill said her son, Marquis Wellington, Jr., is doing well; she called him the "coolest, strongest kid you'll ever meet." Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital pediatric Surgeon Dr . Krystal Tomei also spoke. Dr. Tomei said the bullet tracked through the front part of the child's brain and his skull. "He was incredibly lucky. We don't always see kids that undergo the same type of procedure have the same outcome."
