SEVIERVILLE -- One proposed development consisting of 96 units in Sevier County made it through the application process to become a project in the state's 2017 Low- Income Housing Tax Credit program . It was the only proposed project in Sevier County to make the list, which included a special Sevier County disaster relief category . The project will bring 96 apartments to Lenz Drive, which is located near Smokies Stadium. The LIHTC program, which is administered by the Tennessee Housing Development Agency , scores and ranks initial applicants across the state. Glade Pointe was the only Sevier County project included on the rankings list released on Aug. 17 by THDA officials. A memorandum released late Thursday identified 22 projects across the state as finalists and said that "reservation notices will be issued as soon as possible" and that "underwriting is still underway." A recent discussion on the development-watching forum at Skyscraper Page unearthed plans from Northbrook- based Brinshore Development for a mixed- income project slated for the corner of Oak and Larrabee streets. According to information posted on the developer’s website, the plan would include a new seven- story apartment building , a pair of rental six-flats, and 18 for-sale townhomes between Larrabee and Walton. The New Path Community Housing Project will be built on the corner of 22nd Street and Fairview Avenue after the demolition of the old Twin Dragon Restaurant at the end of August. Crews will then break ground on the new 40-unit complex on September 20th. The New Path Community Housing Project is a part of the city of Boise’s Housing First Initiative. A program put into place three months after Boise’s tent city, also known as “Cooper Court” was cleared out.
