Red Bluff Police seek information on vandalism incidents

Red Bluff >> A series of vandalism incidents from Monday, the majority of which took place in the area of James and Reeds avenues, are under investigation by the Red Bluff Police Department, which is seeking information from the public.

A total of 11 incidents in the vicinity are believed to be connected, said Red Bluff Police Cpl. Ruben Murgia. Several incidents specifically included damage to windows of vehicles, according to police logs.

The first report in Monday’s logs, a few minutes after 8 a.m., is of a car window smashed out by rocks on James Avenue followed by a report just before 8:30 a.m. of a window on South Jackson Street with a rock thrown through it.

Three additional reports of vehicles with broken windows were made between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. on James Avenue and two were made between 9:40 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. on Reeds Avenue, including a vehicle belonging to a landscaping business.

Additional reports were made of vehicles with windows broken on Franzel Road, Ashmount Avenue and as far as Oak and Washington streets.

A vandalism incident was reported at the Roman Apartments on Givens Road.

Officers responded to the area, during the time frame of the vandalism reports, for the theft of personal belongings from a vehicle on Cascade Avenue, and a person reported the theft of cigarettes in the area Hasvold and Otis streets.
