Charges pending after person shot in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating after one person was shot following an apparent fight in Virginia Beach on Saturday afternoon.

Investigators say that based on preliminary information, two people got into an altercation in the Linkhorn Bay apartment complex's parking lot, located in the 500 block of Treetop Drive.  

The fight went into a residence, at which time one person pulled out a handgun and fired a single round, striking the other person.

Police describe the victim's injuries as non-life threatening.

Police say the person who pulled the trigger has been identified, and charges are pending.

No other information is available at this time.
