Jacksonville police reports: Aug. 8-14 | News

Aug. 8-14

A 25-year-old man was arrested at Travis Towers on S. Ragsdale Street. The charges were for trespassing on property in the 200 block of Larissa Street.

Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon occurred in the 300 block of N. Bolton Sreet. The victim, a 32-year-old man, received a severe laceration. According to reports, the incident occurred over the aggressor, a 49-year-old man, asking the victim for a cigarette. When the victim did not give him one, the suspect became upset and struck him in the head with a glass bottle. The investigation is ongoing.

Credit/debit card abuse was reported at the Austin Bank on E. Commerce Street. The investigation is ongoing.

Burglary of vehicle was reported at the gold Star Finance on E. Rusk Street. The victim was a 23-year-old woman. The investigation is ongoing.

A 45-year-old woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The arrest occurred on S. Jackson Street when police were informed of a car driving erratically. Upon being stopped for a traffic infraction, officers found the operator of the vehicle to be drunk, and took her into custody.

A 27-year-old man was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 500 block of Myrtle Drive. Officers were responding to reports of gunshots. A 24-year-old man received minor injuries, and the suspect was taken into custody.

Criminal mischief occurred in the 700 block of Deaton. Damages were reported to be between $750 and $2,500. The investigation is ongoing.

An 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana at the intersection of Fort Worth and Hillcrest streets. Police were responding to a call about a suspicious person when they saw the suspect walking in the lane of traffic while looking at his phone. Upon being stopped for the violation, narcotics were discovered in the suspect's pockets. He was then taken into custody.

Family violence was reported at the intersection of Zimmerman and W. Rusk streets. The victim, a 20-year-old woman was found with minor injuries. The suspect is a 21-year-old man. The investigation is ongoing.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at the Insta Cash Pawn Shop on S. Jackson Street. Police were at the scene in response to an attempted break in. An officer saw the suspect and another male walking nearby the scene, and asked to speak to them. The male walked away, but the woman stopped and identified herself. The woman was found to have several outstanding warrants, and was placed under arrest. She was then searched and was found to be in possession of syringes and glass pipes.

A 32-year-old man was arrested in the 500 block of Sunset Avenue. Officers were responding to a family violence disturbance where they found the suspect to be the main aggressor. A 30-year-old woman was found with minor injuries. The suspect was taken into custody when they found marijuana on his person.

Family violence was reported at the Heritage Square Apartments on Jacksonville Square Drive. The victim was a 20-year-old man with minor injuries. The suspect was a 17-year-old woman. The investigation is ongoing.

Criminal mischief was reported at the Heritage Square Apartments on Jacksonville Square Drive. Damages are reported to be between $100 and $750. The investigation is ongoing.

Injury to a child was reported in the 400 block of Myrtle Drive. The victim is a girl of unreported age. The suspect is a 26-year-old man. The investigation is ongoing.

Criminal mischief was reported in the 1000 block of Clemons Street. Damages are reported to be between $100 and $750. The investigation is ongoing.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for attempted burglary in the 1900 block of Lakeshore Drive. Officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a home on Lakeshore Dr. The suspect was found and taken into custody.

Forgery was reported at the Nu Time Truck Stop on W. Frankston Street. The investigation is ongoing.
