Three people shot at Woodlawn Apartments in Chattanooga - WRCBtv.com

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - UPDATE: Chattanooga police say that two people were shot Sunday night at the Woodlawn Apartments in Chattanooga.

Originally, police were dispatched to the location on Wilson Street for reports of three people who had been shot, but they were unable to locate the third person, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

The first victim, a juvenile, was transported for non-life threatening injuries to a local hospital.

The second victim was identified as 19-year-old Justin Common. He was also transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Common is said to be in stable condition.

It's not the first time there's been a shooting at the Woodlawn Apartments and it's not the first time the same victim has been shot at that location.  Justin Common, 19, has a history of gun violence and crime.

Channel 3 first reported on Common back in January when he was shot in the leg at the Woodlawn Apartments. Police have not yet confirmed whether an arrest was ever made in that case.

A few months later in April, Common was arrested by Chattanooga Police for criminal trespassing, evading arrest and resisting arrest.

A neighbor at the complex says he wants to see an end to gun violence at Woodlawn Apartments.

"It's real wild out here you know, they do that all the time," said neighbor Joel Watson Davis, "It's hard out here, it's hard out here for nothing, but I wish somebody would do something to stop it."

Police have not named any suspects at this time but investigators believe the suspect fired at the victims from a gold sedan.

Chattanooga Police continue to ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call (423) 698-2525.

The investigation is still under way.
