AT&T expands 1-gig Internet service in South Florida
AT&Tis now offering its 1-gigabit internet connection to more customers in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area, including in parts of Lauderdale Lakes, Sunny Isles Beach and surrounding areas.
Its fastest internet speed tier, AT&T Internet 1000, is now available to nearly 300,000 homes, apartments and small businesses in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area that are on AT&T’s all-fiber network, said spokeswoman Kelly Starling. With it, a customer can download 25 songs in 1 second or a 90-minute HD movie in less than 34 seconds, and upload and download speeds are the same.
AT&T previously made ultra-fast internet speeds available in parts of Delray Beach, Doral, El Portal, Fort Lauderdale, Greenacres, Hialeah, Hollywood, Homestead, Miami, Miami Gardens, Miami Lakes, Miramar, North Miami, Oakland Park, Parkland, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Pompano Beach, Riviera Beach, Tamarac and surrounding communities. It plans to expand to Dania Beach in the future.
The service costs $80 per month or $70 for customers bundling it with another AT&T service. The Miami-Fort Lauderdale area is one of 57 metros nationwide where the service is currently available.
