WESTBORO – A two-alarm fire on the roof of an eight-story apartment building caused an evacuation and $100,000 worth of damage Monday. No one was hurt in the 6 p.m. incident.
Fire Capt. Patrick Purcell said investigators determined men conducting repair work in a chilling unit at the top of a building at Fountainhead Apartments touched a heat gun to insulation. From there, flames grew.
No one was displaced because of damage caused by the fire. Tenants were able to return after about an hour.
