Business Response:

Hi Kathie, yes, per your lease - we have a $125 turnover charge due at the time of move-out. Your lease also states information about cleaning requirements, security deposit release, and an inspection sheet for move-out. If you have any questions please feel free to stop in at the Clubhouse! Thanks!

I can't believe how attentive and great the staff are. The amount of care and effort that goes into keeping the complex well groomed and top notch is obvious. There are always crews out around the complex blowing snow, shoveling and driving sanding trucks. Then, when its not snowing they are chipping away any left over ice on our steps. The clubhouse is amazing with super relaxing hot tub/pool and gym with new exercise equipment. Thank you!! more »

The management is awful, there's no reason they shouldn't have patrol were all adults, RAs make sense but cops are a little overboard... It costs way too much, I honestly have no hope that my deposit will come back to me from past experiences... They spend way too much money on advertising. I still have 6 more months here and it just get worst more »

Extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism here. On multiple occasions we have been given insufficient notice of entry, only to find out inspections or routine maintenance have been cancelled by calling the main office ourselves with no prior notice. On top of this, parking is horrible. Both myself and my roommate work late nights and many times have come home to find no parking available in our designated area, forcing us to park elsewhere risking getting towed....
See More Picking up packages from the clubhouse has also been a nightmare. MANY times I have received confirmation of a package delivery, driven to the clubhouse to pick it up, only to be told there is no package when the staff simply is not organized. On one specific occasion, I asked the staff to look for it myself and it was right there in the package pickup room. I mean seriously did you even look? Overall, great amenities at a high price but extreme lack of communication.

Business Response:

Hi Meghan, I'm sorry to hear about your recent dissatisfaction with Summit Ridge. I apologize for any inconvenience you may have been caused by the rescheduling of inspections. Due to the amount of snow, our staff was not able to complete all inspections as hoped, causing some to be rescheduled. We do send out important notices to residents through our new resident portal - Active Building. If you are not signed up, you can stop by the Clubhouse and we'd be more than happy to help with this! We also use Active Building to manage packages and send notices to residents when they are ready to be picked up. We have already seen great improvement with this new process. We have also been enforcing our parking policies to ensure that residents are able to park in their designated areas. We will continue to look for new ways improve parking for our residents and their guests. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us and for being a resident! If there are any other issues we can help with, please give us a call at 218-728-3700 or stop by the Clubhouse!

I absolutely LOVE living here st Summitt Ridge! This is the first apartment I have EVER lived in. I was a bit nervous at first, this being my first apartment, however the staff here has made this huge life change for me seemless. The buildings are kept clean and the outside landscaping is maintained weekly. Every Staff member I've had a reason to talk to has been wonderful, friendly, extremely helpful and competent. There is always someone available to answer any questi...
See More ons I may have, they are excellent in communicating with tenants via email on various issues that affect all tenants. I love the secure buildings and that there is security monitoring the property pretty much 24/7, it's peace of mind. Then there are all of the amenities. The game room, swimming pool, tanning beds, exercise room and on and on. Before moving here I had a lake home that my family spent so much time at. That was hard to leave behind, but with the amenities here it's fabulous that my grandchildren can still hang out with "grandma" and still have fun using the pool, etc. They have made my family feel very welcome which is very important to me. The maintenence team here is fabulous as well. Should you need their service, the issue is taken care of in a timely manner and in just one visit. I can't say enough about the office staff and the maintenance teams, they're top notch as far as I'm concerned. I've been here exactly one year now and plan on many more. If you're looking for a absolute awesome place to live, check out Summitt Ridge, for me this has been a great experience.

Last year was good besides the fact that they had to do construction in our apartment and they never fixed the problem. There were leaky pipes that would rattle and drip really loud between the bedroom and living room wall. The heat vent in the one bedroom didn't work and they "fixed it" although the room never heated after they worked on it. They didn't put the floorboards back on or vent after they worked on it either. Also, there is a rule that says that maintenence can't enter your apartment without your permission- They failed to follow that rule and have walked in while i was showering and sleeping another time. Now don't even get me started on the deposit fee and how they took $356 from my $400 deposit. Apparently i never vacuumed in my living room which is false because i broke a vase while packing and vacuumed that up and the rest of the apartment. Both me and roommate vacuumed. We were also charged for "damage to the kitchen" which is utter bullshit. There was a gouge that was clearly filled in with some caulk and we included that on the inspection paper when we moved in. We did absolutely no damage to the kitchen. We also were charged for stains in the carpet. Umm..Stains? Yeah.
So now to talk about this year. We ended up adding another roommate to live with us so we were going to move from our two bedroom to a three bedroom at boulder. When i called management to discuss the process i was VERY rudely shot down and told "It is impossible to do that. It is a problem for everyone." I was completely taken back because how is it impossible to move from one apartment to another especially when i knew of other people that have done the same thing. Eventually they got back to me saying that we can move into a three bedroom and they said we had to move out of our two bedroom by the 2nd of August and couldn't move in until the 15th to our new three bedroom. So since all three of us live 4 1/2 hours away we had to rent a uhaul and a storage unit and make separate trips from our home 4 1/2 hours away which is hella gas money. The day after we moved out and i was home i got a phone call from management saying i could've moved in the same day i moved out. I was completely outraged. The R.A. talking to me was blaming me for it claiming she never told me i couldn't move in until the 15th. I had the same RA the whole process. Altogether making the trips, uhaul, and storage unit, we spent over $400 to move when we actually never had to. They refused to reimburse me in any way although it was there fault.
Our new apartment when we moved in was not cleaned at all. The carpet had crusted noodles and stains, there was disgusting stuff all over in the fridge, and everything had a thick layer of dust on it. Our screen on our patio was torn, 4 of the 7 doors didn't lock, one of which was the main door to enter the apartment, our washer and dishwasher suck ass, and one of the toilets sometimes doesn't work. Also almost every single MORNING i am awaken by the obnoxious loud yelling of the maintenance workers outside. They have no respect for the people living here. Th wifi is horribly slow and the parking is terrible (maybe stop putting up buildings and make parking lots?)
The management here has terrible customer service. They are all rude and unapproachable and always seem to be upset when you ask for help. If you call or email, they won't answer. I had to talk to the manager about rent payments and financial aid and she never got back to me. I went in multiple times before someone finally helped me. The only good workers here are the lovely bus and shuttle drivers who are always kind and caring. The bussing is really nice to have and so is the clubhouse. The apartments are nice but if I'm paying the amount i am, i expect them to be in tip top shape.

I would give the management at Boulder Ridge apartments a 0 out of 5 stars. My issues started at Boulder Ridge when I resigned my lease in the spring of 2015. They did not give me two weeks notice ofmy transfer date so I was not able to request off of work in time to move my things. I was given one day to do this and no flexibility. The second terrible encounter that I had with Boulder Ridge was when they took multiple unnecessary and ridiculous charges out of my $400 security deposit. The apartment was spotless, we spent hours cleaning and scrubbing all rooms. For example, the living room floor was vacuumed not once, but three times, and had no stains, yet we still received a charge that it was not cleaned. They will do anything to take a college student's money. more »

I would rate this -5 if possible. Boulder ridge SCREWED ME out of my security deposit of $400 dollars, which for a college student is a lot of money. Supposedly, I didn't have a clean enough apartment (which I did). They charged $115 for not sweeping the patio, they also claimed that my rooms were not vacuumed, which wasn't true. I vacuumed several times. It claimed that the bathrooms were not cleaned, Which is also not true- that cost me $90. They claimed that the washer/dryer weren't clean, which I didn't know I was supposed to clean and cost me $10. This is the kicker: they charged me a penny ( A PENNY) for missing/lost keys. When I left, I turned in both sets of keys, and the mail key. There weren'y any missing keys. That was on them. They also charged me 150 dollars for a supposedly "dirty" kitchen, which I also scrubbed down before leaving. Just in case you think I'm some crazy on the internet, I would like to say that we are charged $90 as a cleaning fee; so people can clean the apartments after we left. So, why would I have to pay $396.01 for cleaning when I also have to pay the $90 cleaning fee? Basically, Boulder Ridge has screwed me over in every possible way, even after I left. more »
