Saratoga Springs, New York will not welcome artifacts tied to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler at this year's Arms Fair.  Hitler's desk from his Munich apartment was expected to go on display at next weekend's arms show.  That's now been called off.   The desk's owner says he plans on selling it in January and if people are that opposed to the Fuhrer's personal writing desk they can buy it from him for a half a million dollars and he'll give them the lighter fluid and a match. The project is being overseen by San Diego- based Meridian Development , on behalf of property owner Stratford Land of Dallas. Work is progressing on more than 1,000 homes and apartments and an upcoming 500, 000 square feet of office space, along with retail, hotel and civic amenities. Douglas Emmett (NYSE: DEI) has acquired Waena Apartments , a 468 unit multifamily property in Honolulu, for a purchase price of $146 million (approximately $312,000 per unit). The property consists of 24 buildings on 12 acres and is approximately 97% leased. Waena is located at 1320 Aala Street, within walking distance of downtown Honolulu. The property recently benefited from a $ 22 million enhancement program , including upgraded interiors , a new community center and a solar electrical system . Douglas Emmett closed the purchase using its credit line, but intends to obtain permanent financing on the property in the near future. Douglas Emmett 's total multifamily portfolio now consists of 10 properties totaling 3 ,336 units in West Los Angeles and Honolulu. Douglas Emmett also owns 61 office properties in Los Angeles and Honolulu totaling approximately 15 . 3 million square feet .

Only one claim out of what was a multi-faceted lawsuit over a police shooting remained on Friday after a federal judge dismissed a Jacksonville police officer from the suit this month, according to court records. McBrayer ran to his car after police arrived, grabbed a box cutter and held it in his hand as officers demanded he “put the knife down,” according to the lawsuit. Edwards shot McBrayer five times in the chest and torso, according to the suit. The excessive force claim was later thrown out. While the lawsuit was filed in federal court, the wrongful death claim against Edwards was a state claim, according to court records. Under state law, a wrongful death claim must be filed within two years of the incident for which the claim is made. Dr. Hilda Silva, the Vice President of Student Affairs for the University of Texas at Brownsville, released a statement expressing their condolences for the family of Santiago Daniel Bernal . Bernal was a freshman at UTB and was enrolled as an International Business major . Following his death, campus officials reached out to the students living at the Estancia Apartment, where Bernal was stabbed, just blocks away from the UTB campus. According to the statement from the University, they are offering grief counseling to any student that needs it. Brownsville police responded to stabbing at about 4: 25 early Saturday morning at the Estancia Apartments, just blocks away from the UTB campus.
