WASHINGTON PARISH , LA (WAFB) - A 17-year-old driver is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 436 in Washington Parish . Louisiana State Police say the crash occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15. The victim has been identified as Dustin McCain, of Franklinton. Preliminary investigation led Troopers to determine the crash occurred as a white Chevrolet truck , traveling eastbound on Hwy. 436, approached a curve in the roadway. For reasons still under investigation, the truck traveled into the westbound lane directly into the path on an oncoming black Chevrolet Silverado . The front of the Silverado crashed into the driver’s side door of the white truck. After the impact, police say both vehicles caught fire . Several residents near the crash heard the collision and responded to assist the drivers. Both vehicles were on fire when three good Samaritans arrived . The Crust Cafe has closed, just two years after Baltimore natives Paul Marsh and Carl Yungmann opened the business in Tribe Square. The cafe’s closure leaves the mixed-use building along Richmond Road with no business tenants in the four units available to them. The complex also includes 14 upper-floor apartments available to College of William and Mary students. “I am deeply disappointed by the departure of the last remaining tenant from Tribe Square,” said Benny Zhang, a Williamsburg City Council member and recent alumnus of the college. “With the eviction of The Crust, the property is now completely vacant. Students have lost several valuable off-campus options in four years.” College spokesperson Suzanne Seurattan said the restaurant operators stopped paying their rent, which violated the terms of their agreement with the William and Mary Real Estate Foundation . Firefighters battling a fire that sparked inside an Encinitas studio apartment Monday were able to contain the flames, confirmed the Encinitas Fire Department . The fire began around 3:30 p.m. in the garage on Saxony Road, just south of Leucadia Boulevard. The location is near Highway 101 and just east of Interstate 5. When firefighters arrived , they found the studio fully engulfed in flames. They were able to extinguish the fire, and there were no residents inside the house at the time. According to fire officials , it was first reported as a garage fire. Once crews made entry after containing the fire, the garage appeared to have been converted into a studio apartment with a large office area . At this time, there have been no reported injuries. MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio Impaired driving, Cordova Road: Officers responded to a domestic incident in progress around 10 p.m. Aug. 6 and discovered a man involved had left the house drunk. His vehicle was stopped in the area and he told officers he and his girlfriend got into an argument when they arrived home from a Japanese restaurant . He admitted he was drunk and said an employee at the restaurant kept squeezing sake drinks into his mouth. It was determined the argument never turned physical.
